Greg, you have a big gun, but it only shoots one shot. I'll try your method after mine doesn't work. Santa might bring gifts.

Hey Cos
Will other efforts with less risk and harm produce better results? What, like being a stockbroker? LOL
My kids were the main reason I started going to Church in the first place. Then I decided to actually read the book and God convicted me of my own need for redemption. We went to a Liberal mainline Church until I heard a sunday school teacher trying to undermine the Bible in the kids eyes. That's when I began to look at what they really believed and we ended up leaving.

avoid the consequences and do what you want

What immoral act has no consequences? If it has no consequences then why is it immoral? That's just weird.

I don't believe you can "avoid consequences" for harmful acts or good ones. Most acts have consequences and if they are desirable, then you WANT the consequences.

I've given my kid a set of guidelines that exists in the world outside that of nomadic sheep herders. What does the Bible say about cloning? Working for the defense industry? Nothing specific or concise because as Solon is fond of pointing out, there are numerous contradictions and if it is only literally true, as you say, then it can't address any issue outside of its scope. Sometimes it is okay to kill and not suffer a witch. Or a people that God tells you he doesn't like.

My principles are clear, concise and adaptable to a variety of situations. The means never justify the end until a complete moral assessment has been performed. The ownership of the act rests upon the person making the choice and they alone are responsible. Not the book. Not you. Them.
