OT: OREGON INLET??

Dude, I go out of Oregon Inlet every year, we charter a boat for Monday, rest Tuesday, go out again Wednesday. In between we eat at Kelly's for dinner and the Captain's Platter for breakfast.

Last June (we used to go out in late May, but seas were too rough, so switched to late June) we caught nice sized tuna (30 - 60 pounds), but not too many of them, 7 on one trip and 6 on the other.

But the seas have been so rough the past four years, I may give it up if we don't get calmer seas this year.

I've been on boats since I was 8 years old, but never like the ones off the Outer Banks.

<<OUTER BANKS!!! We spent every summer in Nagshead when I was growing up and I want to die there.>>

No, you want to live there. Being dead you can't go boating.

I went to Nagshead once, about 20 years ago. It is very beautiful. The place I stayed on the Jersey Shore this summer, Long Beach Island, was somewhat more built up, but similar to Cape Hatteris. Newport, Rhode Island, which I have visited several times, has a lovely shoreline, and is full of historical mansions, most from the Guilded Age, as well as the oldest synagogue in the United States. There are many other places on the East Coast with various attractions. But I still like to go to Ocean City, Md. (2 hours and 15 minutes away, now that they have streamlined the roads), with a big boardwalk, lots of families, and plenty of things to do. I like driving up and down the highway in the evening listening to the Grateful Dead and copping a sea breeze, looking at the lights of the motels..........
