NHC announces successful interoperability testing with ADC
NHC's VCCS(TM) and ADC's Avidia(R) System to provide complete DSL Provisioning Solution
MONTREAL, Oct. 25 /CNW/ - NHC Communications Inc. (TSE: NHC) announced today that they have successfully completed interoperability testing between NHC's Virtual Cross Connect Solution (ControlPoint(TM)) and ADC's Avidia(R) System next-generation DSL access switch. The integrated solution enables Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) and Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILECs) worldwide to instantly and automatically connect DSL loops to Avidia without having to dispatch technicians to multiple remote sites. As a result, CLECs and ILECs can benefit from cost savings, the elimination of human error and the ability to rapidly deploy DSL services. "Successful interoperability with recognized industry leaders is a key element in our strategy to provide integrated technology solutions to our DSL customers," said Sylvain Abitbol, President and CEO of NHC Communications. "The compatibility of our solutions will benefit both our customers by facilitating rapid and cost-effective deployment of DSL services." "By working with NHC, we are able to provide ADC customers with a complete DSL provisioning solution that offers substantial cost savings," said Steve Robinson, a Sr. Vice President of ADC's Wireless System Division. "The pairing of Avidia with ControlPoint(TM) is clearly a best of breed solution that offers a compelling value to our customers." "This interoperability enables us to deliver powerful integrated solutions to our customers," said Joe Teixeira, Vice President of Engineering/Strategic Alliances at NHC. "ADC has tremendous experience and a strong market presence in the broadband arena worldwide, and we are very pleased with this technical relationship."
NHC's ControlPoint(TM) ControlPoint(TM) is an integrated copper cross-connect system that allows for thousands of subscriber lines to be remotely provisioned and deployed, eliminating the need to enter the co-location (COLO).
