I'm glad you tried it first. I probably would have had a panic attack. I tried the trial version of Drive Image a couple of weeks ago and ran into the same recognition problem. Emailed for support and they told me about having to install the DOS drivers through a custom install button and I decided to just forget about it. If you try again, let me know how to go about it.

turned the machine off, pulled out the two disks

I can't get the Zip disk to eject when I have the machine off.
