No, Bush is spending about as much, just not taking in the revenues. And once the national debt starts going up again so do interest rates and inflation. And the market goes down. Any fueling of the economy through tax cuts will be short-lived, add debt and spur inflation. In short, until we pay off our national debt we should postpone tax-cuts and streamline government, but not at the expende of the safety net, SS, medicare, the military or the environment.
One of the great cuts Reagan made was closing down mental hospitals. What did that give us? Homeless people.
