Stops, are your risk tolerance. 5-10% below your entry. I don't use them enough. For example I bought some trading shares at 42.25. I have a gtc limit order in the $53 range. The plan is to let it hit and then buy it back for 1-2 points lower. Play the volitilty so to speak. The right way to do it would be place a stop and then move it up as the stock runs. If the stock breaks $50 tomorrow maybe I will set a stop.
