FYI: ASA has been in platinum (Amplat/Implats) and diamonds (DeBeers) for a long time.

Used to be 25% (assets in platinum and diamonds), I think, until the gold assets lost so much value -- but hey, they do pay a dividend ... nice to buy something out of favor so much and it still pays a nice dividend ... at least better than your average tech stock <ggg>

Mike, re asa : one thing i don't care for here is the holding in au (anglo gold). apparently they are hedgers. if gold goes to the moon (which of course it won't <NG>) au might work for us in reverse.
