Mike,
Colon cancer is the 2nd leading cause of deaths related to cancer. The best way to prevent developing such cancers is by having a colonoscopy performed if you have a family history or for those over age 50. This year in the U.S. over 7.5 million such procedures will be undertaken by patients. It is projected that by 2003 this number will jump to well over 10 million. Before such a colonoscopy is done it must be proceeded by a cleansing of the colon...If a doctor performs the procedure and finds the colon "not clean for good viewing"..the doctor is only reimbursed for one procedure. Therefore it is important that the pre-op procedure do a good job and up until now, the only way to do this was to drink a foul tasting concoction that has been described by many as like drinking battery acid. Inkine Pharmaceutical has just gotten a FDA approval for the first pill purgative(VISICOL). In FDA trials, patients preferred the PILL vs. Liquid by a near 10:1 ratio. IMO, INKP has a bird nest on the ground with Visicol...7 to 10 million procedures in the U.S., not counting the other countries and INKP has a product needed for each procedure. What are your thoughts on such a product and INKP as an investment?
P.S. They have another drug in Phase III testing and a highly interesting pipeline of other drugs.
