They indicate that the time has been compressed and give the reason for it as faster information generation which has caused a shrinkage in the timeline.. It's not the time that matters, it's the pattern, and lining up the pattern is actually an indication of the time compression of information generation and I agree that the compressed time is the more accurate assumption here..
