(ALi) made a splash at the recently concluded Microprocessor Forum with a public demonstration of an operational double data rate (DDR) standard memory chipset, ending months of speculation about the viability of DDR memory. Moreover, ALi claimed it has the first mobile DDR chipset and trumpeted that DDR SDRAM provides power-savings of more than 34 percent over standard memory.

P.S. To jim kelley; If you knew how fundamental a thing "die size" is to the memory industry, you would understand. But you're a mom and pop type. Here's a clue. Take a look at those RIMM prices. Notice that they're more expensive than DIMM? Wonder why? Die size is probably about half the difference.
