Pretty strong article. At first glance it seems they claim to have input from a Cisco employees, but when I read it closely it comes out a little different:

Cisco salespeople have been told that Cisco will have a market-leading cache product very soon, says one Light Reading source close to Cisco.

Cisco has had an enviable security record with respect to it's acquisition plans. If there's a leak, it would likely be from an announcement that is just about to be released, an awkward period when the number of people with a need-to-know expands greatly. If it doesn't happen this week, I'd discount it as journalistic sensationalism.
