is it still true that EMC's NAS offerings all need to be plugged into existing Symmetrix SAN configurations

This is true for their Cellera product. However, we might see something new from the Chameleon! I am kind of curious to see if EMC is willing to cannibalize their large, high priced Symmetrix systems....

KAS, I have not looked at the DGN-based NAS offerings from EMC, but their other offerings do indeed require Symmetrix on the back end.

Regarding DGN employees at RTP (North Carolina), I am pretty sure that rumor is true. NTAP is fully aware of what DGN brought to the EMC table wrt NAS, I believe.

I am not surprised by this downgrade to "BUY". Sooner or later the analysts have to look at the valuations and say "this stock is ahead of itself". WRT the comments about NetCache sales "unproven"--that has credibility. As was stated, even DW called NetCache sales "unpredictable". That does not concern me, and I'll bet that this quarter shows instability in the upward direction.

I am holding on in anticipation of this quarter's earnings.
