Thoughts on Zaffire/Juniper/NT/Extreme/BBO

Appears that the interoperability test between Juniper M20 and Zaffire is bearing fruit.

BBO/Juniper/Extreme

Does this announcement imply that they are replacing or augmenting the Extreme solution for BBO? Either case pretty positive for Zaffire. I would think that with KP backing Extreme would be hard to displace.

BBO ... currently claims 80 real-estate affiliates, controlling a claimed 25% of all U.S. office space. It has chosen in-building vendors such as Extreme Networks for metro Ethernet, Sonus Networks for packet telephony and Advanced Switching Communications for access integration, as well as Juniper Networks for core routing...Not incidentally, Kleiner Perkins also funded both Extreme and Juniper, whose core routers BBO is employing in centralized metro hub locations.

From core to metro edge.
NT Qtera Ultra -> Versalar/Juniper/Avici -> NT OPtera Metro/Zaffire??
Since the demo below did not include the Optera metro solution, is it possible that NT or their customers would consider using the Zaffire solution in conjunction with NT longhaul and Juniper router solutions? Anyone know if the NT Optera 5100/5200 Optera solution is any good or comparable to the Zaffire Z3000.

The interoperability demonstration will show the Nortel Networks Versalar 25000, the Juniper Networks M40, and the Avici TSR platforms as the router interfaces to the Qtera ULTRA.
