ed,

I agree too, with your statement "It is just annoying to me that people don't seem to see a serious problem developing"

From our perspective, it is a finite resource being subjected to an almost parabolic consumption rate as more and more nations of the world become industrialized..

The thought that a free market will "create" a natural substance, petroleum is fantasy to the max..IMO.. Sure higher prices will spur exploration and production.. And sure, if we throw open the whole world to exploration, even the most environmentally sensitive areas we can delay the day of reckoning a couple of years.. But what's that.. Is it worth it?? Not in my mind. To sell out our environmental soul to the petroleum devil..

And referencing, the small "stripper" wells, currently shut in,, awaiting a price point.. Well, that's a proverbial drop in the bucket... And many of those, it would probably take more "energy" to recover the available
energy, As many would need, injection methods, water, steam, etc. in addition to intensive pumping.. A negative exercise..

just my thoughts..coug
