If you are going to analyze a situation, you do have to make certain reasonable assumptions. Then sensitivity analysis will allow you to look at the range of outcomes. Sorry if I oversimplified my analysis.

One other thought Stockdon. It is possible that ADI is not losing market share at this point. I only have two data points 1) the sockets I have seen ADI lose and 2) AWRE's royaly figure. Maybe AWRE's royalty growth is not a good proxy for ADI shipment growth. If ADI really is growing at or better than GSPN's pace, AWRE's marginal royality has got to be very small. Perhaps their agreement is for 10% on the first million chipsets in a Q, 5% for the next million and less than that for the third million.
