RE:P4 bogging on QIII.
I think the bogging down at high resolutions are more likely problems with drivers or the AGP. The card is fill rate limited at high resolutions, I suppose that a really weak FPU or some processor problem might explain the slower speed, but that would mean the P4 is even weaker than the PIII on floating point.
