William Archer resigns in Texas...."Since Bush had approved Archer's appointment, the controversy had political ramifications. A few critics said the case indicated the sort of person the Republican presidential candidate might bring into the White House.

Bush stood by Archer in the spring despite outcries from civil rights leaders and minority legislators. But last week, the governor's office issued a statement saying Bush believed the commissioner's comments were "inappropriate."...........doesn't say much about Bush's choice selection when he hires racists.. Can imagine
the cabinet?........Disaster!
