You are correct, though I will lay odds it was as safe as possible. Look at it from a different prospective, He is enlisted (no clout), yet he is out of there in only 141 days, he has a cushy job, his Daddy is a Senator. Common sense dictates he was not there to storm a hill or win the war. Sure stretches my range of credibility. If he was only going to be there for 141 days, what was the motive and why bother? Cost more to get him there and back than it was worth. How does one engineer such a brief stint in the service. The last I knew, the minimum then was 2 years. Question begets question begets question. All one can justly say is he put in a cameo appearance.
