I believe Jerry favors uses the 5-RSI on everything and I just took a look...seems to be a good number.

Only use it looking for divergences that anticipate, not for the crossing of 50.00 to suggest strength.

A book has recently been published by Colin/Meyer that back tested on super computers a whole series of common indicators looking for their success rate. I didn't buy it, but wrote down the best performing indicators. If I can find the note I'll post the results.
