I would have to look over the figures for various countries. I doubt that 70% is typical, but perhaps I am mistaken.

I registered in the state of Maryland over 20 years ago, during a voter registration drive that made it very easy, by bringing out registration tables to shopping centers. I have never had to renew, because I have faithfully voted, and not lapsed. And when I changed address a dozen years ago, I was able to correct the address by mail.

I don't know. On the other hand, getting financing is part of garnering support. In any event, I think McCain is demagogic on finance reform, so we have a little difference of opinion..........
