Heh, I know what you mean about trying to figure out the potential returns. Personally, I try to keep it as simple as possible. Ex: I bought the EMC Jan '02 90s(I like atm's) at $23.50. Then I sold the 120's about 2 weeks later for $16.375. My cost is now about $7 and as long as EMC is trading above $97(rather than $113.50) in Jan '02 I'm in the money, with my profit limited up to 120, or 30 points...a tad over 300%.

I like atm calls on real companies. The LEAPS give me all the action I can comfortably deal with. And the short side of the spread cuts my exposure a bit.
