AMD and INTC will rise after today, NSM is minor setback, and 3rd day profit takers from last thursday and friday settlement buyers. My only concern is that, now, as oil stocks are reporting, and sinking as predicted [see posts on OIL BUBBLE BURSTING] that the liquidity (cash) stuck into those stocks by those investors that fled the uncertainties of the techs will be lost, and unable to get to the exits in time before the $32 per barrel oil stock run up bursts, since above $25 per barrel the marginable costs of oil exceed the net earnings from that oil, and thus the SELL OFF in OIL STOCKS this week. Hopefully, the exits will last long enough to bring those investor dollars back to techs, like INTC and AMD which are REAL growth stocks and not speculative commodities like OIL AND DRUGS.
Anyway, 4th quarter corporate and personal tech buying before the end of the year will consume all chips despite the temporary book to bill ration oversupply alluded to by NSM. Even NSM will get those chips out to OEMs as OEMs use them up in product roll outs prior to Christmas. IMHO, but I have been very right on these predicitions this past month.
I am,
Truly your$,

Burt - re: 'Any reason for the big downtick in AMD today? '

This is just a minor technical adjustment as AMD prepares for its next Moon Shot rise towards it's righteous $150/share valuation.
