The street didnt like NT's numbers.......especially the way the media is hyping it.

Anybody else stepping up to the plate here? I got some JDSU in afterhours at 85.26-85 1/2.

I think its an opportunity.......the street always over reacts, especially when the media gets involved like it is.

We'll see...

Sam --

The FDA press release is so tainted it deserves SEC investigation.

Why would anyone bring out that kind of news months after the issue was totally resolved? Not only was it old news --- and not even worth reporting at the time --- but whoever put it out didn't report the issue accurately in that the machines have nothing to do with eye treatment but material processing and printing applications.

I talked to a friend at SDL and was told the following:

The problem that has been "suddenly" brought to light was taken care of almost immediately. The day the letter was received the production line was stopped and every laser gone over and "fixed". The recall has been completed and the problem taken care of.....

Reading over the Dow Jones press release, I notice it cites Federal Filings Business News as its source.

According to Federal Filings Business News, a letter to the company from the agency said FDA inspectors found a key from the FD-25 model of the laser could be removed when it was in the "on" position.

I did a subject search and found the following:

fedfil.com

Click on any of their news areas and you'll discover there's nothing anywhere near current --- April 2000 is the most recent news on any of the links I clicked. Most are dated in 1998 and 1999. It appears the site isn't even operative. They did list a phone number and I'll call tomorrow and see if they're still in business:

Federal Filings, Inc.
202-393-7400

I thought Dow Jones checked its news stories, especially following the scam that happened not so long ago (it's late and I can't remember the name).

At any rate, I'll chase this down and give an update if I find anything more.
