Attracting particular attention at the booth are some products that have never been shown before in public: an DoCoMo Pocket PC and a range of global positioning system (GPS) devices.

The Pocket PC is a palm-sized personal digital assistant that runs Microsoft Corp.'s Windows CE operating system. The Pocket PC being exhibited at the booth was manufactured by Casio Computer Co., Ltd., and its functions and software are more or less the same as those found in Casio's own Cassiopeia E-700 device. The new PDA has a 32MB internal memory, but the biggest difference between it and the E-700 is that it is equipped with a CompactFlash Type II expansion slot. This means that NTT DoCoMo's card-type "P-in Comp@ct" CF Type II personal handyphone system phone unit can be plugged into it. (Photo: The Pocket PC on show at NTT DoCoMo's booth. The special keyboard is shown attached to the bottom of the unit. The unit's scheduled price and sales launch date are undecided.)
