You're showing your lack of knowledge about costs involved to recover oil and gas from the ground. When you factor in $10 per barrel oil, there is no profit. It doesn't take much to make 8 times last years profit when it was close to zero.

The price of gasoline is not 8 times what it was last year, there is no direct correlation.....

They excluded quite a few costs in that number. They reported a loss for the quarter. If it's good enough for the Microsofts, Ciscos, and Intels of the world, then ....
