I just posted this on Ciena thread.

NT answering question on sequential shortfall in Optical area.

All of slowdown in September quarter blamed on customers overbuying in earlier quarters in fear of component shortages. Customers used Sept. qtr to bring inventory down, given that NT was ramping up production capacity and able to alleviate customers concerns about future shortages, i.e., less reason for customers to hoard components and systems.

Future growth will be 20% sequential growth from June quarter, not from slightly lower September quarter. Added that they are already close to being sold out for 4th quarter in optical.

This does not sound like the "disaster" the market seemed to be reacting to.
