Pat: Agree, NT full of hot air...

All the component fabrication equipment makers are on allocation also, lead times are a minimum of six months for a handful....more are just not available. That goes for Newport, the Japanese and the Germans...

So that much money just simply cannot be (usefully) spent in any period likely to affect component supplies in any significant way for several years...unless they buy someone really undervalued and overlooked by every other person in the universe...

This has all the makings of gross posturing in an attempt to negatively impact the valuation of component makers JDSU and SDLI just before the merger...

So buy JDSU and SDLI, you will never find it cheaper, and the Silver bullet NT had is fired...and just in case they really try to spend it, buy NEWP...
