Margin calls will do it.
With that widespread misery happening to the favorite stocks one will see a portfolio effect which doesn't occur if single stocks dive or one weak sector plummets...

sounds like your portfolio balance ain't doing so hot these days...pretty pathetic to come over here and make an ass of yourself by making fun of those making money. It's quite comforting knowing there are still some morons like you who haven't blown out yet (have you?) left to take the wrong side of trades. Means there's still much down left.
