It would be nice if these folks could work together.

Yep... a real shame how we've lost these past 8 years.

The economy is bigger, whether because, or in spite, of the Clinton/Gore administration.

But it all could collapse like a house of cards because they let the economic foundation of this nation be undermined by an oil monopoly called OPEC.

Watch what happens over the next couple of weeks. This situation in the Mid-East is coming to a head.

When Sharon joins the new emergency government in Israel, the peace process will effectively be put on hold or canceled. And that will place Arafat in a position of fighting or dying (politically speaking), impaling himself on his own sword if he can't succeed in dragging the rest of the Arab world over the brink with him.

But there is one factor that worries me even more and the WSJ mentioned some elements about it yesterday. Jordan is under extreme pressure to renounce its peace treaty with Israel. Considering that it is economically destitute, 80% palestinian, ruled by an "Americanized" Arab, and borders Israel directly, there is a good chance that a coupl attempt against King Abdullah make be in the works over the coming weeks/months.

Either that, or he will find himself also "neutered" by his precarious political position.

Regards,

Ron
