Absolutely incorrect, Eric. The US prevents many many many items from being shipped to Iraq.
Including Hypodermic needles. Under the guise that they can be melted and turned into bombs.
Including chlorine for water purification. Including vaccines, under the guise the half dead germs
can be revived and turned into disease weapons.

Saddam hussein seems to have no trouble buying alcohol and cigarettes. Medical supplies are not available from other countries? Let's get real here.

Please tell me, I really do not know, why did Iraq invade Kuwait?

Absolutely incorrect, Eric.

Sarmad - thanks for the clarification.

Even though I dislike and distrust Saddam, I'm in total agreement with you that the sanctions should be lifted. Children are dying and there's just no way to justify withholding supplies that might save their lives.
