Steve D. Personally I'm not sure about the optics unless the discount gets bigger. LU slow optics business I put down to poor execution, GLW's slowing growth forecast sounded like capacity constraints, NT's miss of 90% growth which is no increase on last year and down from 180% last qtr they blame on a number of things ... inventory build-up, lack of installation personel, amongst others. But it was a big miss. And then there's the rumour that JDSU might miss projections. If one believes in the roach theory .... if you get my drift. Tech in general looks dodgy ... telecoms, net, networkers, semi's, hardware, software, wireless ... and now optics ...are there any 'safe' sectors ?. Even the leading storage co's (EMC & NTAP - I know -diff tech) look weak. Interesting times ...... Regards Stephen

My Thoughts are that the "optic" opticals will suffer a death for all these monthes of hyper extreme and downright ludicrious "HOPE" valuations. I think they are FAR from a buy IMHO, but i don't expect them to die all at once, will be volitle and profitable if traded correctly. But seriously folks.... the "Bear" is being poked in the tummy , and i don't think he is too happy... so hide the honey.. okay... and take the wife and kids out of the forrest, and for gosh sake learn to fish and take that bait back eod...
