I agree, to a point. After all, the PPT as we know it was born on "no-bid" Tuesday, October 20th, 1987. It was a model rescue, amazingly reminiscent of the "saves" we saw on 10/13 or 4/04. I'd contend, though, that the '87 bubble was at that point deflated much more completely than what we see now. Of course, I'll happily revisit that once we reach Dow 6200 or SPX 750....

rr and other Canuckistans,

The price action on NT has been truly bizarre since that series of gaps back around July timeframe. (I am on record many times on SI with NT posts, but stopped posting after it bounced back in Aug.)

Anyway, some of my friends and I had been noticing in the past few weeks the intense "feel good" propaganda coming out of NT. In many cases, this was picked up by the national press, particularly the National Post, and printed as fact/editorial. Really pathetic.

The other one they have been doing this for is RIMM. I stopped buying the National Post the day that the FP section ran a front page spread on RIMM that for all the world looked like an advertising supplement. That thing will feel the oosik soon enough.

Gonna be a bad morning in TO. -g
