Yep. They need to find out the hard way. I bet (knowing Oracle) that it was probably an order of a magnitude more costly that Object Store or Portal Server. And in addition, the ORCL architecture is not flexible. It does not allow the seller to provide a profile (structure or attribute set) for the items offered and consequently the seller to search by those unique attributes. This is in my view a very important feature that on-line catalogues should have.

It reminds me of MSFT when Hotmail went down - they tried to "upgrade" from Object Store to MS SQL Server....they learned the hard way too.
