Calling Stewart Nelson DownDate.....

Scott:

I've been out of town since last Tuesday.

I'm really amazed by the level of bitterness and negativity toward the outside world.

I am simply a mirror for just one part of this world. Sadly, what you mirror to me reflects volumes on what's being mirrored inside to others on the outside.

And I'm not just talking about you, for you are simply part of the same culture that's supporting this approach.

Face it, I am a threat to Stewart, you and others from the Old Guard inside Novell.

If I wasn't then I'd have received a call by now.

Stewart, you and all the rest of you who support this culture are simply playing defense. For you cannot tolerate criticism and independent thinking, especially the kind that reflects energy that is challenging the closed culture of this Old guard.

Sure, you said "I'm sorry, I acted out, was wrong and would like to apologize profusely."

And, sure, "they" accepted you back in for there was no other option available to you for getting back in. In fact, living where you live, you really didn't have much choice to continue challenging anything unless you had the guts to do so. Alas, the guts just wasn't there. Invert and revert to the same patterns.

What's on the outside is now the enemy. Very much in line with the thinking inside to begin with.

You challenged these folks and could not follow through for whatever reason.

Many, many left before and after you and my guess is that many, many more will leave once they understand the fixed/locked nature of this intransigent negativity and defensiveness.

The only thing you have to offer anymore Scott is more labeling, judging, defining DOWN things that don't fit the political/power/control paradigm that you've seem to have become the chief electronic apologist for.

Calling Stewart Nelson is NOT the answer or focus anymore. He's clearly not interested in talking to me for reasons which as an adult, I don't think make rational/logical sense. I'm a shareholder with a voice, energy and ideas which I am not shy about sharing with everyone on the face of this planet.

I was the featured speaker at a dinner this past week sponsored by one of the top rated financial services firms on Wall Street. Spoke for an hour and 10 minutes with questions.

Yes, there's traction Scott. I'm not over with Stewart, Novell et. al. And I really don't care what you, he or anyone else thinks. Clearly there's a separation, anger, negativity, etc.

All I can say is "OWN THE FEELING!!"

YOU created it Scott.

Stewart created it.

YOU, Stewart and anyone else who feels negative about what I write and share is responsible for the feelings that are engendered.

I'm not going to get into this childish crap about blaming, shaming, etc. Hey, we are all adults. If you have a problem with a person, OWN the feeling or problem.

I certainly have decided to OWN my own feelings over this stuff. I'm not angry, resentful or frustrated. I'm simply trying to point out what I think is wrong with Novell from a personal management point of view. If I had a senior manager who got away with the kinds of things Stewart's gotten away with I'd have a very clear, simply choice ahead of me: shut up or leave.

And I'm not one to shut up.

Shareholders have chosen to leave.

And some very good employees have chosen to leave. And there could be many more if this attitude rot is allowed to continue.

Just my thoughts Scott. Nothing to get bitter, angry or excited about. With each post you just are that much further away from being "real" to me and others.

There was a time when I could actually say your voice on this board represented a breath of fresh air - not just to those who agreed with you, but to those who seriously challenged you. You seem to have lost the that dynamic balance of integrity that used to ring so true in the past.

I hope this can come back again.

Peace.

GO!!
