The Euro still appears to be getting the stuffing knocked out of it,,will it break below 83 today..Saw where compaq's euro earnings were hit hard by the high $
"However, it was overshadowed when Compaq Chief Financial Officer Jesse Greene said in a conference call that the effect of the weak European currency would lop as much as $100 million from pretax profits in the fourth quarter"
...
"``People were taken a bit off guard'' by the news of the currency impact, said Bailey." Haven't these "people" been paying attention? Perhaps these "people"'s time would be better spent doing stock analysis, as opposed to underwritting stock and placing IPO's<VVVVBG>

G'Mornin DD ... I'm not sure where we're going on the indices.

COMPX didn't get crushed like it thought it might.

JDSU ... they report soon ... I got wind of an SDLI laser not meeting FDA .. so Bee dug into the Edgar files for a breakup clause instead of dragging me off my keyboard. I 'believe' that the laser in question was not a major issue .. I was following the wrong rabbit. Anyway. This may have had an impact on Opticals too till everyone got it figured out.

You might look into Fidelity. They credit MF money in and out in a retirement accnt. But not in the Selects. If you like Sectors like I do .. it's a good way to play them. They have a lot of Sector Funds.

Hope that helps,

Ray
