International FiberCom Announces $74 Million in Contract Awards PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 2000--International FiberCom Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:IFCI - news) Wednesday announced that it has received more than $74 million in new engineering and infrastructure development contract awards, increasing its contracts awarded to date this year to more than $322 million. Chairman and CEO Joseph Kealy commented: ``The demand for increased broadband capabilities continues unabated. We at International FiberCom believe that our rapid growth is the result of our end-to-end service, ranging from planning and engineering, to infrastructure build, to being able to hand over fully operational end-users to our customers. ``Our major customers are, as they have always been, major telecommunications and cable service providers nationwide. We are continuing to expand, equip and train our skilled staff to stay ahead of the demand for these services.'' The largest single award in the group of contracts is from Virginia-based PF.Net and relates to a new long-haul project that stretches from the Southwest to the Midwest. The contract is approximately $50 million and is estimated to be completed over the next 12 to 14 months. The recent contract with PF.Net is in addition to other projects that International FiberCom has been awarded by PF.Net in the West.
