The only way out is pure selling exhaustion. Once everyone who panics dumps their shares (and there is always a buyer on the other side of every transaction, lest we forget), then the markets stabilize and the overhead is reduced. New buying urges come along and very little selling pops up to hold prices down. That's why we should start to see an upturn once the funds close their books next Monday. Everyone I know just wants to put October in the dumpster.
