It's about time they jumped on the optoelectronics train!

It's not too late, though - this train is just leaving the station.

In a way, this is coming full circle. When Kopin was first formed, one of the applications they targeted was in optoelectronics: LED arrays for brakelights. However, that was gallium arsenide, this is gallium nitride; no small difference.

This acquisition looks like a great fit.

Not exactly up-to-date, not what you'd call a well-tended web site, but better than nothing. Gives epi and substrate materials as of a year ago. Apparently the acquisition by Kopin does not meet their criteria for newsworthiness. <g>
