Am not for banning cigarets although banning a poison if taken as directed is not imo wrong. But arent you the hypocrite here. You would ban abortions but defend the smokers right to smoke.
I too am concerned about excess abortions but prohibition doesnt work for either tobacco or abortion. Meet me half way here. Thats all I wanted the first time around. You are stubborn.

OT
Brian, the abortion issue is highly charged emotionally, and as such will remain the kind of issue where thoughtful discourse and compromise is difficult if not impossible.
One area both groups should agree on, what if we really make a concerted effort, re-effort, to eliminate the issue to the greatest degree possible?. In other words, throw off our Puritanical shackles, discuss sex like adults, and make every sort of unwanted pregnancy vehicle available to all, as cheaply as possible. That includes discussion of abstinence, as well as all preventative measures, and anything else, the full gamut. If we made it a national priority to eliminate unwanted pregnancies, we could have a huge impact- we put a man on the monn, if I recall.
But, no, lets just defend our current position on the issue, keep it an isue, lets not fix anything.
Christ, too bad Perot was so damn goofy, his campaign did have a bent toward action and fixing problems.
