Mag: Are we in a Bear market now? or just one of many slumps in the longest Bull Market in history?
Have not heard many people say we are in a full flung Bear market...at this point it is more of a correction.

If we are currently in a true Bear Market, they last apx. 2 - 4 years on average, then XRX, LU, AOL, APPL, and a LONG list of many other companies are in BIG trouble.
If last springs Market drop, and the current down draft are just corrections from a very over heated Bull Market, then things will look MUCH better in a few months.
To early to call this a Long Term, even a Med. term Bear Market.

I fully understand your comments about " Loss of capital" and Cash flow problems. If this is going to be a true Bear market........TEMBER BELOW!!!
If not, then there are MANY GREAT Investment values and investment oppertunities out there now.

I read his post from the point of view of stocks NOW, not 4 months ago when all was Dandy...

I think the Markets will start improving after the New Year. Elections over, Spring should bring lower energy cost ( hopefully ), Tax selling over, possably a drop in interest rates and a general mood to buy after a few months of weakness and stock shakeouts. IMO
