I suppose it's take the money and run. At some companies, folks stay on and on, even when they don't need the $. For example, there were a lot of loyal msft folks who stayed on forever, tho many if not most of those have finally left. csco is another example that comes to mind. This is all just perception, of course. Bezos and amzn just don't strike me as good to work for/at. Not that that is what work is about. But if one is spending 20 years of one's life there, it sure helps....
