As I said earlier, the state of Texas might as well have distributed both Questions and Solutions for the test to boost the scores.
All this talk about Texas Miracle is Tusssssssssss.....

Actually, improvement was shown on both sets of tests, just not as much on the national assessment. Also, the author of the Rand study that appeared in the summer is disputing the new study. You should read the article first, before attempting a summary.....

PT, Almost none of the students in Texas were prepped to take the tests. In a few cases, investigators for the state, found that certain teachers, and principals, had tried to skew the tests to make their ineffective teaching methods look better than they were, but these people were found out, fired, and the tests were administered again to get an accurate assessment of the students' progress. Bush has seen to it, that all automatic, or socially motivated, promotions of students, has ceased. No student advances unless they have learned the lessons prescribed. This has cause a completely new, and healthy, process of education in Texas. I live here, know some teachers, and know a lot of parents, and know this to be true. ~H~
