Business bankruptcies always lag behind new startups because 95% of new businesses fail. Business startups have been booming, so business failures are also up. Personal bankruptcies are largely due to credit card abuse, and lag expansion of consumer credit which has been expanding rapidly in the past few years.

Regarding bankruptcies, that wasn't the question. How many in Reagan-Bush and how many in Clinton-Gore? Bankruptcies gotta be a sign of something, don't they?
