that's because the manipulated gold market is still tightly controlled. is a retail initiated squeeze possible? i guess so, yes. eventually i'd expect one of the bigger hedge funds to break ranks and cover, on the theory that this is best done before everybody else does it. gold will probably move when LEAST expected. btw, you're not entirely correct with your observation that 'it hasn't acted well'. the gold price is in fact soaring in all non-USD currencies...as the dollar gold price has remained stable in spite of a run-away frizzlebun.
