On what kind of planet are you living? The percentage of the GNP swallowed by the Fed Govt in revenues is at the highest since WWII. And this includes the times when we were fighting the Cold War, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, not to count all the Great Society programs of the 1960s. ``The end of big government as we know it'' -- another big Clinton lie. About 3 weeks ago, Barron's completely destroyed Al Gore's claims to have reduced the size of the Fed Govt. If one excludes the huge cuts in DOD's civilian employees, the number of fed employees saw a large increase. The budget is balanced not because of govt tightening its belt but because of huge increases in taxes (Clinton's tax increase, bracket creep, capital gans taxes).
