My guess is 0 because Intel will be forced to slip the P4 release out to Dec 31.

RE:"My guess is five recognizable names from which you can actually buy a machine either locally or online.

Of those, only Dell and Compaq will have a 1.5 GHz machine in stock.

Any other prognosticators out there?"

Sure, My guess is that you won't be able to get a Compaq or Dell P4 on your doorstep before Jan 1st...for the rest Jan 15th, Maybe Feb 1st.

If Intel hypes the P4 too much it will hurt P3 Christmas sales. SImilar to what happened when Intel went from Pentium to Pentium MMX right about this time of year...

Maybe Intel should delay the P4 release until after Christmas...or maybe it already really has...
