The interest expense is too low I believe. My understanding is a bond holder may convert at anytime. I could be incorrect here. If that is correct, maybe a lot of people converted to the common. Not sure why they would.

It appears that Amazon uses a non standard type of accrual accounting. I mean it is non standard to my understanding so no one sues me for saying that. For example, Amazon is depreciating Goodwill quickly and my guess is no one cares about it so get rid of it. On the other hand, the interest expense is broken into parts which in accrual accounting I do not believe would be neccessary. I believe they have two sections. One is near term debt and the other is long term debt yet both instruments were about 10 years in length.

I admit to not studying that too long due to time constraints. Forgive me if I have that wrong.
