<<well, i'd say NOBODY can guess the market. also, i'd also say CSFB had a HUGE hand in when this thing went public.>>

even though nobody can guess the market, just about anybody could have told you that the mania for FIBRE stocks was running on fumes and certain to end...

look at it this way greg...noam recreated the company as an incubator...part of being an incubator means you are likely to do a lot of IPOs...part of doing a lot of IPOS means you better understand the IPO market...and noam showed he did not understand that IPOS are principally about timing and hype, and now both are gone...

as for your other point about csfb...given their druthers they wanted the ipo to happen in the summer...they acquiesced to noam...they also got a little greedy...they knew they would get higher underwriting fees because the deal would be bigger with the acquisitions...

i would wager now that since our pricing range won't change from the original 13-15, the total deal size and therefore csfb's cut, will be about the same as if they did the smaller lmne deal in june with a bumped up price range...

also let's not forget the original timing and guidance we were given by noam in june of 1999...

he originally told us that the ipo would happen in Q4 of 1999...but then there were delays

then in the jan 2000 cc noam said lmne would happen by april...then in february we got word that there were delays and that it would not happen until the summer...

it is october 25, there is no ipo yet...the roadshow started today and the fibre bubble burst...

i think it is a losing propisiton to defend mrvc's record with lmne...

with opxs, i have been impressed...

but the handling of lmne has stunk up the joint...
