Jay, because we are not having any of the sustained rallies I was expecting here before election, the chances of cleaning the deck are quite good. My problem with that scenario is that in many instances valuations are still quite high (in many others, already bargains like the semi equip sector), and it will take time before the FO and I-net earnings, under any scenario of growth, will catch up with current valuations. Thus we might have som stretches of bullish mood, but return to the March type of valuation is not in the cards soon, IMHO. Ithink that any bottom around tthe 2800 to 3000 area will just serve as a temporary floor over the next few weeks. Furthermore, you must take into account that between here and the first few weeks in December, weak stocks are going to become even weaker due to tax selling.
