Is There Anything That Ensures Some Monetary Backing For The Euro

What if the Germans for instance say, this is bull chit, I have been forced to sell the Porsche 911 Turbo for $111,000 for the last four years. This Euro has to go. From now on we only accept DM. And as we have for the Italian Lire we will let the DM/Euro exchange rate float.

Which then sets off a string of such denunciations until the only ones who still retains the Euro is Italy, and they decide since they are they only one, they will set the Lire/Euro exchange rate at parity. <gg>

What are my Euro futures worth then? One Italian Lire?
